ARTS PSYCHOTHERAPY AND COUNSELLING SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS + GROUPS
WHAT EXACTLY IS AN ARTS THERAPIST?
Creative Arts Therapists are mental health professionals who use art, media and the creative process (drawing, writing, sculpting, drama, clay, sand, dance and movement) to facilitate the exploration of feelings, improve self-awareness and reduce anxiety for clients.
Creative processes can be a way to explore and express feelings that may be hard to put into words and to find new pathways to healing.

WHAT IMPACT CAN ART HAVE?
HOW I WORK
ARTS PSYCHOTHERAPY AND COUNSELLING SUPPORT
VERBAL + NON-VERBAL PROCESSES
As a creative arts therapist, I specialise in arts psychotherapy and counselling services for individuals. Alongside talk therapy, I use and collaboratively explore the sensory, kinesthetic, perceptual, and affective information that emerges during the art making process.
HOLISTIC ADVOCACY
I am an advocate for the current developments in interpersonal neurobiology, polyvagal theory and attachment repair practices in arts therapy. I believe these widely cast a holistic, person-centred and trauma-informed perspective on the therapeutic encounter which assists toward psychological safety, emotional modulation and expression of non-verbal implicit memory.
SUPPORTING EMERGENCE
My aim is to safely support clients towards awareness and compassion in understanding their full experience, resolve pressing issues, integrate what is happening in the body and mind, foster empowerment as well as support the emergence of transformation through the therapeutic process.
INTEGRATIVE SUPPORT
I practise through humanistic, strength-based and phenomenological stance, integrating an intermodal approach to arts therapy. Navigating between talking, art making, movement, gesture, somatic enquiry as well as play and drama therapy influences.
